DIY New Year's cards. Master class with step-by-step photos.

Author: Skovoronskaya Galina Nikolaevna, labor instructor of the State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Kazakhstan orphanage No. 3 Taganrog.
The master class is intended for lovers of handicrafts: the work is simple, does not require a lot of time and expensive materials, is accessible for children and interesting for adults.
Purpose: variant of a greeting card for the New Year.
Target. Making a greeting card with your own hands.
Tasks.
1. Learn how to make greeting cards from paper and decorate them.
2. Develop creativity, aesthetic taste.
3. Develop fine motor skills hand, eye.

New Year 2016 is approaching. I would like to please my friends and relatives and give them something unusual, made with my own hands, as a gift. I suggest making New Year's card simple to make, it contains a small number of parts, and is made from available materials: paper, colored cardboard, velvet paper. Postcards can be very diverse if you use other colors for the background and appliqué details. Postcards can be beautifully decorated, giving free rein to your imagination, using additional decorative elements (stars, ribbons, snowflakes, etc.). Then your postcard will become a unique masterpiece.

For work you will need the following materials:
white paper A-4 format;
colored cardboard for postcards, A-4 format; colored velvet paper;
scissors, pencil, ruler;
glue;

Hole punch, figured hole punch (snowflake);

Step by step process manufacturing:

1. Let's use templates

1-nose; 2-snowman's body; 3-hat; 4-scarf; 5-legs; 6-fir-2 parts.
2. Trace the templates with a simple pencil.
3. Carefully cut out the parts.

4. Prepare the base of the postcard. Take colored cardboard A-4 and bend the sheet in half.

5. If you want to write text inside the card, to do this you need to take a sheet of white A-4 paper and fold it in half.

6.Glue the white paper insert inside the card.

7. Glue the applique details onto the postcard:
- glue Christmas trees;

- then the snowman’s body and legs;

- a hat, scarf, nose and eyes (to cut out the eyes we will use a regular hole punch).

8.Then we draw the snowman’s mouth.

9.Using a shaped hole punch, cut out snowflakes from white paper and paste them onto the card (if you don’t have a shaped hole punch, you can replace the snowflakes with ready-made ones or draw them).

10.Then on the postcard we make the inscription “CONGRATULATIONS!”, “HAPPY NEW YEAR!” or anything else you wish and the text inside the card (the text can be handwritten or printed). Postcards can be decorated with stars, ready-made snowflakes, sparkles, beads and other decorative elements.

Well, that's it. Greeting cards ready for the New Year!
Thank you for your attention! I wish you all creative success!

Hello dear readers!

New Year on the threshold and I won’t get tired of repeating this. Because I really miss you and want a lot of white snow as soon as possible. And, in order to bring me closer and raise my pre-holiday mood, I try to write articles only on New Year’s topics. And today is no exception, we will talk about colorful postcards. Which each of you probably wants to receive. So, in order not to wait for anyone, I suggest you start creating yourself.

The most popular materials for making postcards are cardboard and paper. Do you agree with me? Who owns these items the most? Of course, our children, their imagination is a hundred times richer. This is exactly what we need. Let's combine our strengths and the result will be great work. which will become the perfect gift, as for loved one, and for a work colleague.

I remember that in the previous article we already discussed the topic. Therefore, if you are planning to create souvenirs with the symbol of the year, then go. And if you are interested in beads, then there is a job for you. Made in this style, they will become a wonderful home decoration. There are many options, the main thing is not to be lazy and start now.

This note was written specifically for our kids. What I mean is that you shouldn’t leave them aside. Be sure to involve them in your work. You will see this activity will be much more exciting for parents and their children.

New Year cards for 2019 pigs (templates)

I think we should start our selection with classic ideas. Although from my own experience I will say that each job is unique. Despite step-by-step scheme, each of you will put something new into your work. Someone will add decorations or change the decoration. Here's how your fantasy works. In any case, a handmade postcard turns out a hundred times more beautiful than a purchased one.

Let's look at two options. You will decide and choose the appropriate one. Or maybe you should take note of both. Here the choice is only yours.

And here it is one of the first works. As you can see in the picture there is a bear. But as it approaches us coming year Yellow Earth Pig, then a pink pig will look perfect against this background.

Let's prepare required material. We'll need a little of it. And you will probably find it in your home.

We will need:

  • A4 cardboard
  • Acrylic paint or gouache white
  • Markers

For decoration:

  • Jute thread
  • cinnamon pod
  • Sweet lollipop
  • Decorative sprig of rowan

Manufacturing technique:

1. Take a sheet of cardboard and bend it exactly in the middle. To make the fold line more stable, walk along it with a wooden skewer or knitting needle. Now we apply a drawing to one of the front sides using a simple pencil. The movements should be light, do not display the picture too brightly. Please note that in the future we will paint it white.

Decide on a design; it can be absolutely anything. You can draw a pig for the coming year.

2.Now that your sketch is ready, you can start painting. Take a brush with a fine tip. Make sure that the “hairs” of the brush point in one direction. It is advisable to use acrylic paint; you can use gouache, but in this case it should be quite thick. We decorate the figure of the bear.

We will draw the eyes and nose using a black marker or felt-tip pen. We draw patterns in the same way. You can outline the drawing, thereby making it a little brighter.

3. To give our card a New Year's mood, you can add small dots in the form of snow. Thus showing them in the form of snowflakes. Well, now we can start decorating. For this we need a decorative sprig of rowan, sweet caramel and cinnamon. Tie all the presented material with jute thread. Then wrap it around the card, securing the ends on the wrong side.

You can do it a little differently. Prepare the decor, secure it with jute thread, and then attach it to the finished card using hot glue. And then you won’t need to wrap all the work. Finished product will be in the public domain for discovery.

This is the kind of work you should get in finished form. Feel free to get creative and add a little more decoration.

Time to move on to the second option. We will make a postcard from cardboard and add more decorations. By the way, we will use the shape of a deer as symbols of the New Year. Which can be replaced with any other. Perhaps it will be a piggy.

We will need:

  • Black cardboard
  • Silhouette of a deer in white
  • Rhinestones and sequins
  • White gouache
  • Brush
  • Transparent oilcloth
  • Scissors

For decoration:

  • Cinnamon
  • Sweet lollipop

Manufacturing technique:

1. First of all, you need to make a basic form from cardboard. To do this, we cut out the cardboard so that if we fold it in half we get a square. Then carefully select the core using a knitting needle or other sharp material.

Now open the resulting form. And on one of the inner sides draw two lines diagonally. Our task is to find the very center. Found it? Insert the tip of a compass into it and draw a circle.

Then change sides of the compass. Place it in the center with a pencil, and with the tip, go around the circle several times. This way we will achieve the desired effect and can cut out a circle using a stationery knife.

2. Now that you’ve completed one part of the work, it’s time to move on to the rest. Look at this product at this stage you should get it. Let's continue making it. Take a brush and dip the tip into the paint. Then shake it a little over the cardboard. Thus, small “drops” will appear in the form of a starry sky.

3. Now let's start decorating the circle that we cut in advance in the cardboard. Be sure to go over the outline with white paint (gouache).

Take a transparent oilcloth and transfer the shape of a circle onto it. Use a felt-tip pen to make the outlines clearly visible.

Now in the resulting circle we put our decorative elements. Cover with the other side of the oilcloth. Carefully go over the iron (placing paper under it).

The iron temperature should be minimal. Otherwise the result will be negative.

4. Now we need to attach the same oilcloth to our postcard. Take cardboard with the center cut out. We put our decorative part on the inside. Please note that in the window that we made before, sequins and rhinestones are visible. Go over the iron again, but this time around the entire edge. Pressing it firmly against the cardboard itself.

Paint the other side black. You can paint it, but then let it dry thoroughly.

You can draw stars on a black background. Or any other image related to the New Year.

Our work is almost ready. All that remains is to add a little decoration, that's what we'll do now. Take cinnamon and sweet caramel. Fasten them together using jute thread. Then secure it to the card itself with glue.

Now we secure the deer by cutting it out of white cardboard in advance. By the way, the shape of the figure can be absolutely any. I will post several templates from which you can choose the appropriate option.

The flying pig option is just super. It seems to me that such a silhouette would look perfect in the picture.

And here is a piggy bank in the form of a piggy bank. Personally, its shape reminds me of this particular item. What do you think?

And finally, a classic pig carcass. Which, it seems to me, decided to have a little snack. So we dealt with this subsection. I think it's time to move on to the next equally interesting title.

DIY New Year's cards made of paper and cardboard

Well, are you ready to create miracles with your own hands? To make the job perfect, I suggest considering several options. Let's start with the simplest ideas. For the manufacture of which we need a minimum of material. But you still have to put in a little effort.

And here is one of the options for works made of cardboard. I think everything is clear from the diagram. First of all, print it out, then transfer it to paper. Carefully cut out and make marks at the folds.

We cut out additional parts and attach them to the prepared cardboard with glue. Choose colors that are more contrasting so that they differ from the main shape. Don't forget to attach the ties; you can use a satin ribbon for this role.

Another idea is “minimalism”. It’s all quite simple: just take white cardboard. Bend it exactly in the middle. On the inside, draw the shape of a Christmas tree. Immediately use a dotted line to indicate the cut points to avoid confusion in the future. Now let's take stationery knife and cut off the parts marked with a dotted line. By the way, the drawing in this case can be anything.

Now we open our card and on the side where there is no picture we glue colored paper in a contrasting color. By the way, you can choose a different shade, stop at New Year's version. The picture shows one of the symbols of the New Year.

For example, this picture in this work seems to me to look much more interesting. These bells and snowflakes will give the finished work a festive look and lift your spirits. Here are a couple more ideas that your kids will surely like.

Deer is another symbol of any new year. It doesn’t matter in what form it is depicted in a single or harnessed state. In any case, their image alone already tells us about the upcoming winter holiday.

No less interesting option background template. Made in green with the addition of Christmas trees and snowflakes. And these multi-colored circles are like festive balls fallen from a thorny tree.

Look, the work seems similar, but thanks to a different design, it looks a little different.

Let's move a little away from this postcard. I think with this work everything is more than clear. Let's move on to the next product, made similarly from cardboard.

Do you want to make beauty like this with minimal time? Just try a little and you will definitely succeed.

Have you prepared the cardboard? Yes! Then let's get to work, here's a simple template. Thanks to which everything will definitely work out. We make notches in the fold areas. To make these folds more precise, go over them with a knitting needle or something else sharp.

Be sure to pay attention to the size. If you follow the diagram exactly, then there will be no inaccuracies in manufacturing.

How about yours? finished work will look expanded. By the way, you can change its appearance a little. And words of congratulations can be completely different. Think about this moment.

For decoration you can use beads, rhinestones and even sequins. They should be attached with hot glue to be more sure that they will not fall off.

A slightly similar option to the previous one. But the congratulatory part will be inserted. That is, if necessary, it can be removed and put back in place. By the way, you can play a little with color. To make it brighter, then the color of the ribbon should be chosen appropriately.

Prepare the base for the card by folding the cardboard in half. Measure the length of the front part. Now we cut out strips of the same length from colored paper. Then we glue them to the front of the future card.

For decoration we will use a Christmas tree. To do this, cut out the shape of a Christmas tree from thicker cardboard. Then we connect four threads of different colors into one and wrap our workpiece. We secure the beginning and end of the thread with hot glue.

Now we attach all the decorations made to the postcard.

These are the wonderful ideas we have discussed with you. I don't think we should dwell on this. We gather our strength and move on.

Making a postcard with children from colored paper (master class)

So let's start making the next work. I promise your children will like this work. We will make it from colored paper and cardboard. Of course, we will also need glue and scissors. The color of the postcard should be decided in advance.

So for starters, let's choose suitable color cardboard Then let's put it in two. This way we will get two equal parts. Using a ruler you can measure again.

Now let's start making parts. By adding them up in the future we will get a pig. We will cut out the parts according to the template.

Be sure to indicate dotted lines on the blanks. So as not to confuse the fold line in the future.

We attach the cut out templates to colored paper, in our case yellow. We trace along the contour and cut it out. Now attach the yellow blank to the template. And using a ruler, bend it along the dotted line. You can see it more step by step in the photo below.

We do the same with all the details. If for anyone, it’s not entirely clear, I’ll repeat it again. We take in our hands a cut-out blank made of colored paper. Then connect it to the template (where the dotted lines are indicated). And you bend two parts folded on top of each other along these lines.

Please note that the ears are on both sides. And this means that the direction for both is different. Therefore, do not confuse the templates when you transfer to colored paper.

You probably have all the parts already prepared, I suggest moving on to the next stage. Let's start creating a postcard with you. We take the cardboard in our hands, which we initially folded into two equal parts. We open it and get to work, we will fasten the prepared parts directly in the center. We'll start with the piggy's legs. Fasten so that the convex part is on the outside.

Now let's start attaching the remaining parts. The method is basically the same, no different from the previous one.

For greater stability, it is recommended to fasten all parts with glue.

Now all that remains is to add a patch. Cut out a circle from yellow colored paper. Draw an outline of a more contrasting color. And we draw small holes with a black felt-tip pen, which is typical for any nose.

We attach it tightly to the main part of the card. Make sure that the fold line of the workpiece coincides with the center of the product.

You can put something under the patch so as not to stain the base made in the shape of a pig's head.

Now we attach the eyes using the same glue. We decorate the card with flowers and balls, cutting them all out of the same colored paper in advance.

Our work is ready, now we are thinking about who will become the owner of such beauty. By the way, the front side can be decorated with the same colors. Or maybe someone would like to write congratulatory words.

New Year card ideas for children 3-4 years old

Well, we got to our kids. As I promised, we will not stop them aside. I propose to consider the most popular ideas for making cards for children aged 3 and 4 years. To be more precise, preschoolers.

Whose kids love to create with their hands? I think each of you will answer this question positively. And when the holiday concerns the New Year, Santa Claus and even a gift. They are ready to make something funny and interesting with double strength. And you and I, as parents, must definitely help them with this.

You probably know that many children at this age can be very restless. That's why I think I'll start with the fastest jobs. Which can be done in one go and, by the way, with minimal consumption of material.

And here is one of the first options. We make the main part by bending A4 size cardboard in half. And then we start decorating the front part. By the way, such a product can be used in the form of a letter from Santa Claus. By writing something on the inside.

Here is another job done quite easily by the way. In this case, strips of various widths and lengths are cut out and then attached to the base. Parents' help will be needed here. Since not all children at this age are able to work with scissors.

I’ll tell you a secret that all children like this card. To be more precise, they treat the image of the Snow Maiden and Santa Claus with great trepidation. And in general, any product made with their own hands is a whole job for them. It’s great when such beauty can be created from improvised means. As you can see, these are cotton pads, plasticine and ordinary threads from which the braid is made.

Did you know that you can make a 3D postcard with kids? By the way, such work will take you a minimum of time. And as a result, we will receive maximum positive emotions.

In this work, you can use napkins of completely different colors. And for decoration, use sequins or rhinestones, thereby imitating New Year's balls.

And in conclusion, I would like to present to your attention another postcard in 3D style. By the way, attached to it is a detailed step by step description. Therefore, questions should not arise at this stage.

Working with scissors again, please don't leave your children unattended. Working with these metal objects is very dangerous, especially for such small ones.

Well, now for those who like something more serious. We will make the product in a more complex style. Which one, you will find out by going a little lower.

Video on how to make a postcard in scrapbooking style

Let's talk about another interesting type of needlework. We will make a postcard in scrapbooking style. You must have noticed that this technique is gaining enormous popularity in our world. This kind of hobby is developing with great force. Most people prefer to make gift items with their own hands. And this idea is simply wonderful. We move away from the banal option of gifts and make them ourselves. And despite step by step diagram with a photo, each of us will get our own special result.

Let's step back from words and get down to business. I offer you a wonderful video lesson to watch. Where each step will be described in detail.

Excellent master class on New Year's cards. What I liked most is that all the stages are so laid out that even a beginner can cope with such work. Therefore, do not hesitate, purchase the necessary material and get to work. The New Year is very soon, you need to stock up on ideas now. Good luck in your work!

Dear readers, my article has come to an end. I don’t want and won’t say goodbye to you. I look forward to seeing everyone in the next post. Where we will once again analyze the New Year's theme in detail. I haven’t decided yet whether this will be a dish or a craft, but in any case it should be interesting.

Bye everyone, come visit!

For this we need:

  • Colored cardboard of different colors (the thinnest, it will be more convenient to bend and glue, and the ends of the folds will not be whitish)
  • Thick thick colored cardboard for the cover.
  • White paper(album sheet).
  • Sequins, sparkles and other “tinsel” for decoration.
  • Scissors, glue

We try to involve children, even small ones, to the maximum. Of course, at the age of three, a child will most likely not be able to fold a beautiful “accordion” or cut out a Christmas tree, but it’s easy to stick it on, sprinkle it on, and decorate it.

So, bend a sheet of thick cardboard in half blue, if desired, glue the applique onto the front side. We also decorate the inside with snowflakes (you can use your finger to apply white paint or toothpaste to a snowball, sky, snowdrifts, etc.). Pre-cut to width to the depth of a postcard white sheet A4 format is folded along the long side into an accordion (ideally, it’s better to take an even longer sheet, then the card will open wider, or make the folds very shallow, which is also not good - the effect of “drifts” is lost). We coat the ends of the accordion with PVA and glue it to the base of the card. We close our card and squeeze its sides for a few seconds. All. All that remains is to glue pre-cut Christmas trees, houses, bunnies, etc. onto the “drifts.”

This photo shows how best to hold the accordion before gluing it on. After each accordion, close the card and squeeze it for a few seconds. Please note that thin uncoated cardboard is grabbed by PVA almost instantly, and when you try to remake or move the accordion, some of its ends may “remain” on the substrate.

You can make such a lush beauty from thin green cardboard.

The principle is the same - we make several accordions out of thin green cardboard,” but there is a nuance: we cut an A4 sheet along the length into strips of different widths and the width (depth) of the fold for each strip is also different: in the diagram I tried to show how approximately The part of the sheet I have drawn looks like.

As a result, we begin to bend the widest strip, making it the deepest folds - this will be the base of the tree. If you take a closer look at our Christmas tree, you will notice that the tiers of the tree are most advanced at the bottom, while the accordion at the bottom is folded with a large “step”. Further, moving towards the top of the tree, the depth of the tier and the depth of the bend decreases. We decorate the top of the tree with a star, gluing it tightly to the backing. The Christmas tree can be “dressed up” with sparkles and sequins

Cute three-dimensional New Year cards

In order to make such a card, you need to make triangular blanks from colored or decorative paper, and then glue the edges together sequentially. Decorate the card with a bow and write congratulations!

Volumetric Christmas tree

In order to make such a card, you will need to print two layouts on thick paper and arm yourself with scissors. Layout one, two (files in Word). It is better if your sheets are of different colors. Next we follow the photo instructions:

We decorate the resulting Christmas tree with sparkles, painted or glued toys, you can draw snowdrifts and a snowman, or gifts nearby, and we get, for example, this cute creation:

Origami Christmas tree

With mom’s help he can make such a postcard small child. It is better to take paper with a beautiful background (for example, for scrapbooking). If the child wants to do it himself, take thinner paper, since it will be difficult for him to bend a thick sheet properly.

We decorate with ribbons, buttons and in the end we get these cute cards:

There is another way to make absolutely stunning cards, the manufacturing technology of which can be used only for New Year's holidays, but also for any others: March 8, February 23, birthdays.

These cards will occupy the recipient's attention for a long time and will cause a lot of delight. What you need:

  • Transparent plastic lid (from food packaging), you can use lids from sour cream or yogurt.
  • Cardboard or thick paper for the base of the card
  • Filling material: beads, seed beads, pictures, buttons, etc.

We fold the base of the card into a booklet; it should be at least 3 centimeters wider than our lid. We cut off the side of the lid with scissors, which is used for closing, leaving only the area for gluing (see photo).

In the front part of the card we cut out a round window with a diameter 2 mm larger than the diameter of the lid window. This can be done perfectly smoothly using a compass knife or just nail scissors.

Using a thin pencil, mark a place on the back half that will be visible through the window. Glue the lid to the hole in the front of the card.

On the second side we make our picture, and then glue both halves. Can be decorated with braid and sparkles.

And here Santa Claus and the Snowman are hurrying through the snowy snowdrifts))). The snowdrifts and cloud are cut out of felt, the characters are made from buttons and felt, the tree is a real twig, which is slightly pasted over with pieces of padding polyester, snowflakes are drawn with a helium pen. Something like this picture can be “hidden” inside a plastic lid.

We hope that we have inspired you a little to be creative and charged you with New Year's enthusiasm :) And you can learn more from our blog!

At first glance, it may seem that a postcard is the most banal way to wish a person a Happy New Year. Most often, a card is an addition to the main gift. But despite all our desires, it is not always possible to buy full-fledged gifts for absolutely all of our loved ones and friends. And this is where a postcard always comes to the rescue! But so that the recipient does not feel deprived of your attention, let's learn how to make New Year's cards with our own hands. Let's look at options that all beginning cardmakers can do.

First, let's get acquainted with the basic rules for creating postcards.

Basic rules for creating DIY postcards

  • Any, including New Year's cards self made should be initially thought out in terms of composition.
  • First, make a draft version of the postcard, and then transfer it to the final version. Prepare all the necessary elements, arrange them in the order you like and only then can you glue them.
  • When choosing a design for a postcard, pay attention to the interests of the recipient: what colors he likes best, what exactly he prefers.
  • There should be no handwriting on the front of the card unless you have perfectly beautiful handwriting. It is better to make inscriptions using special stamps or cut out ready-made letters or words from decorative paper.
  • It is better to write wishes and congratulations inside the card, so do not forget to leave space for this.
  • When creating a handmade card, be careful above all else! Even a drop of spilled glue can ruin the entire appearance, so if the mistake cannot be corrected, it is better to do it all over again.
  • High-quality materials and tools are the key to your success. Make a list of everything you need, this will save you from unnecessary expenses and prevent you from forgetting anything.
  • Any little thing can be useful in creating a postcard, even those that at first glance are not needed at all. For example, all kinds of ribbons and tags, buttons and bows, ropes and scraps of fabric, pieces of paper, beads, etc.
  • Show your imagination, experiment! And if at first it’s difficult for you to come up with something of your own, use ready-made templates.

And since we are talking about the materials and templates used, we classify the postcards according to this principle.
