Arguments-quotes from the allegorical story “ The Little Prince».

The problem of growing up, the role of childhood in a person’s life, the relationship between fathers and children. What is the difference between adults and children, and why don’t they understand each other?

I'm afraid of becoming like adults who are interested in nothing but numbers.

When you tell adults: “I saw a beautiful house made of pink brick, there are geraniums in the windows, and pigeons on the roof,” they cannot imagine this house. You have to tell them: “I saw a house for a hundred thousand francs,” and then they exclaim: “What a beauty!”
But, unfortunately, I don’t know how to see the lamb through the walls of the box. Maybe I'm a little like the adults. I guess I'm getting old.

All adults were children at first, but few of them remember this. (epigraph-dedication)

Adults never understand anything themselves, and for children it is very tiring to endlessly explain and explain everything to them.

Adults<…>They imagine that they take up a lot of space.

Children should be very lenient towards adults.

Only children know what they are looking for. They devote all their days to a rag doll, and it becomes very, very dear to them, and if it is taken away from them, the children cry...

I know one planet, there lives one gentleman with a purple face. He had never smelled a flower in his entire life. I never looked at a star. He never loved anyone. And he never did anything. He is busy with only one thing: he adds numbers. And from morning to night he repeats one thing: “I am a serious person! I’m a serious person!” - just like you. And he's literally swelled with pride. But in reality he is not a person. He's a mushroom.

Attitude to the surrounding world. How one should (should) treat (people, nature, our smaller brothers).

It's also lonely among people.

All roads lead to people.

There is such a firm rule. Get up in the morning, wash your face, put yourself in order - and immediately put your planet in order.

The role of laughter in human life, why is it necessary?

Laughter is like a spring in the desert.

The role of memory, history, homeland.

People have no roots, so life is very difficult for them.

And when you are consoled (eventually you are always consoled), you will be glad that you once knew me. You will always be my friend. You'll want to laugh with me. Sometimes you will open the window like this, and you will be pleased... And your friends will be surprised that you laugh, looking at the sky. And you tell them: “Yes, yes, I always laugh when I look at the stars!” And they'll think you're crazy. This is the cruel joke I will play on you.

Deception, lies.

It's stupid to lie when you can be caught so easily!

You can be true to your word and still be lazy.

When you really want to make a joke, sometimes you inevitably lie.

What is wisdom and why is it needed (who can be called a wise person?)

If you can judge yourself correctly, then you are truly wise.

How to see the beauty in the simple, why does a person need it? External and internal beauty: what is the difference, what is more important? How to see the beauty of the world around us?

You should never listen to what flowers say. You just have to look at them and breathe in their scent.

“You are beautiful, but empty,” continued the Little Prince. “I wouldn’t want to die for your sake.” Of course, a random passerby, looking at my rose, will say that it is exactly the same as you. But she alone is dearer to me than all of you. After all, it was her, not you, that I watered every day. He covered her, not you, with a glass cover. He blocked it with a screen, protecting it from the wind. I killed caterpillars for her, leaving only two or three so that the butterflies hatched. I listened to how she complained and how she boasted, I listened to her even when she fell silent. She is mine.

Do you know why the desert is good? Springs are hidden somewhere in it...

Whether it's a house, a star or a desert, the most beautiful thing about them is what you can't see with your eyes.

When he lights his lantern, it is as if another star or flower is being born.

And when he turns off the lantern, it’s as if a star or a flower is falling asleep. Great activity. It's truly useful because it's beautiful.

His half-open lips trembled in a smile, and I said to myself: the most touching thing about this sleeping Little Prince is his fidelity to the flower, the image of the rose that shines in him like the flame of a lamp, even when he sleeps... And I realized that he is even more fragile than it seems.

What is really important and what is secondary in a person’s life? what is the most important thing in a person’s life? the relationship between external and internal.

Adults love numbers very much. When you tell them what you have new friend, they will never ask about the most important thing. They will never say: “What’s his voice like? What games does he like to play? Does he catch butterflies? They ask: “How old is he? How many brothers does he have? How much does he weigh? How much does his father earn? And after that they imagine that they recognize the person.

The most important thing is what you cannot see with your eyes...
Only the heart is vigilant; you cannot see the most important things with your eyes.

What are friends for, the role of friendship and love in a person’s life, what does friendship and love give to a person? Why is affection needed? What is the role of fidelity in a person’s life? Why is it important to be faithful to loved ones?

- If you love a flower, the only one that is no longer on any of the many millions of stars, that’s enough: you look at the sky and feel happy. And you say to yourself: “My flower lives there somewhere...” But if the lamb eats it, it’s the same as if all the stars went out at once!

It's very sad when friends are forgotten. Not everyone had a friend.

After all, I didn’t want you to be hurt, you yourself wanted me to tame you.

My friend never explained anything to me. Maybe he thought I was just like him.

It's like a flower. If you love a flower that grows somewhere on a distant star, it’s good to look at the sky at night. All the stars are blooming.

If you love a flower - the only one that is no longer on any of the many millions of stars - that’s enough: you look at the sky - and you’re happy. And you say to yourself: “My flower lives there somewhere...”

It's good to have a friend, even if you're about to die.

When you allow yourself to be tamed, then it happens that you cry.

My life is boring. I hunt chickens, and people hunt me. All chickens are the same, and all people are the same. And my life is a bit boring. But if you tame me, my life will be illuminated as if by the sun. I will begin to distinguish your steps among thousands of others. When I hear people's steps, I always run and hide. But your walk will call me like music, and I will come out of my hiding place. And then - look! Do you see the wheat ripening in the fields over there? I don't eat bread. I don't need ears of corn. The wheat fields don't tell me anything. And it's sad! But you have golden hair. And how wonderful it will be when you tame me! Golden wheat will remind me of you. And I will love the rustle of ears of corn in the wind...

Search for the meaning of life (what is the meaning of life?) The problem of searching for happiness (how to find happiness? what is it for?)

I wish I knew why the stars shine<…>Probably so that sooner or later everyone can find theirs again.

Goodbye, he said.
The beauty did not answer.
“Goodbye,” repeated the Little Prince.
She coughed. But not from a cold.
“I was stupid,” she said finally. “Forgive me.” And try to be happy.
And not a word of reproach. The little prince was very surprised. He froze, embarrassed and confused, with a glass cap in his hands. Where does this quiet tenderness come from?
“Yes, yes, I love you,” he heard. “It’s my fault that you didn’t know that.” Yes, it doesn’t matter. But you were just as stupid as me. Try to be happy... Leave the cap, I don’t need it anymore.
- But the wind...
- I’m not that cold... The freshness of the night will do me good. After all, I am a flower.
- But animals, insects...

I must tolerate two or three caterpillars if I want to meet butterflies.
They must be lovely. Otherwise, who will visit me? You'll be far away. But I'm not afraid of big animals. I also have claws.
And she, in the simplicity of her soul, showed her four thorns. Then she added:
- Don’t wait, it’s unbearable! If you decide to leave, then leave.
She didn't want the Little Prince to see her cry. It was a very proud flower...

If you keep going straight and straight, you won’t get far...

People get on fast trains, but they themselves don’t understand what they are looking for,” said the Little Prince. “That’s why they don’t know peace and rush in one direction, then in the other...

People grow five thousand roses in one garden... and do not find what they are looking for.

What kind of power should there be? What is the relationship between government and people?

Everyone must be asked what they can give.

Power, first of all, must be reasonable.

...kings look at the world in a very simplified way: for them, all people are subjects.

The problem of understanding. How to understand each other?

Words only interfere with understanding each other.

Responsibility for actions, how to characterize a person? What is a person? By what can you judge a person?

You know... my rose... I am responsible for her. And she is so weak! And so simple-minded. All she has is four measly thorns; she has nothing else to protect herself from the world...

You are forever responsible for those you have tamed.

I didn’t understand anything then! It was necessary to judge not by words, but by deeds. She gave me her scent and illuminated my life. I shouldn't have run. Behind these pitiful tricks and tricks one had to guess the tenderness. The flowers are so inconsistent! But I was too young, I didn’t know how to love yet.

You live in your actions, not in your body. You are your actions, and there is no other you.

“What are you doing?” asked the Little Prince.
“I drink,” the drunkard answered gloomily.
- For what?
- To forget.
“Forget about what?” asked the Little Prince; he felt sorry for the drunkard.
“I want to forget that I’m ashamed,” the drunkard admitted and hung his head.
“Why are you ashamed?” asked the Little Prince, he really wanted to help the poor fellow.
“I’m ashamed to drink!” explained the drunkard, and it was impossible to get another word out of him.

Will I really, really never hear him laugh again? This laughter for me is like a spring in the desert.
And then he also fell silent, because he began to cry...

Look at the sky. And ask yourself: “Is that rose alive or is it no longer alive? What if the lamb ate it?” And you will see: everything will become different... And not a single adult will ever understand how important this is!

This, in my opinion, is the most beautiful and saddest place in the world. The same corner of the desert was drawn on the previous page, but I drew it again so that you can see it better. Here the Little Prince first appeared on Earth and then disappeared. Take a closer look to be sure to recognize this place if you ever find yourself in Africa, in the desert. If you happen to be passing through here, I implore you, don’t rush, linger a little under this star! And if to you small will do the boy with golden hair, if he laughs loudly and doesn’t answer your questions, you will certainly guess who he is. Then - I beg you! - do not forget to console me in my sadness, write to me as soon as possible that he has returned...

The Little Prince in the book by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry teaches us eternal truths. How often do we repeat the wise words of this not at all a children’s fairy tale! And sometimes we don’t even think about whether we follow them in everyday life.

At first glance, the Little Prince in the most famous work of A. Saint-Exupery is just a hero of a fairy tale for children, who quarreled with a flower and wanders around different planets. After reading the story, you understand that “The Little Prince” is not a fairy tale, but a philosophical parable that tells about the most important and complex things related to human life.

In his work, Saint-Exupery touches on many issues. The most important of them is the problem of responsibility - a person’s responsibility for his actions, words, thoughts. The narrator was taught this by his young friend, the little prince. He, the ruler of the entire planet, felt enormous responsibility for all his charges. It is not for nothing that he tells the narrator: “I got up in the morning, washed my face, put myself in order - and immediately put my planet in order.”

How lovingly and carefully the little prince cleaned his planet when he decided to go on a journey with migratory birds: “On the last morning he tidied up his planet more diligently than usual. He carefully cleaned the active volcanoes... In addition, he had another extinct volcano. But, he said, you never know what can happen!”
But the prince still had a lot to learn.
His biggest lesson in responsibility was given to him by a fox who asked the prince to tame him. The fox explained that only by taming someone can you find a friend and fill your life with meaning: “... if you come at four o’clock, I will feel happy from three o’clock. And the closer to the appointed time, the happier. At four o'clock I will already begin to worry and worry. I will find out the price of happiness!

It's not that easy to tame someone. This is a whole art that not everyone can do. But if this happens, then the world is painted with all the colors of the rainbow, because a person is deprived of the most terrible punishment - loneliness. He acquires loved one, which becomes the only one for him in the whole world.

Having learned this, the little prince realized that his rose, in which he began to be disappointed, is the best, because it is “filled” with his attention, his patience, his life: “But she alone is dearer to me than all of you. After all, it was her, not you, that I watered every day. He covered her, not you, with a glass cover. I blocked her with a screen, protecting her from the wind... I listened to how she complained and how she boasted, I listened to her, even when she fell silent. She is mine."

But that's not all. The fox revealed another secret to the prince - the most important one. Having tamed someone, a person bears responsibility for him. Always, all your life, at any moment and in any place. Attachment is a great happiness, but also great responsibilities. A creature that has become attached to you is completely open to you, depends on you, needs you. Having earned his love, you are responsible for him, therefore you must always take care, protect, and pay attention.

This would seem to be a truism. Everyone knows about it, but is often forgotten. Each of us has people whom we have tamed. First of all, these are our parents, friends, loved ones, children, animals who live with us. And on a global scale, this is the entire planet, the Universe, on which we are actively acting, transforming everything around us. And every day, every second, it is important to remember the words of the red fox, who once said to the little prince: “... do not forget: you are forever responsible for everyone you have tamed.”

These words helped the prince understand how much he loves his defenseless, weak rose and return to her. The narrator speaks these words to us, reminding us that the most important things in life are the simplest. And one of them is the idea of the global responsibility of each of us. Only by realizing it can you fully feel happy.

Little Prince, we are responsible for those we have tamed!

(1) This is where the Fox appeared.

“(2) Hello,” he said.

“(3) Hello,” the Little Prince answered politely. - (4) Who are you? (5) How beautiful you are!

“(6) I am the Fox,” said the Fox.

“(7) Play with me,” asked the Little Prince. - (8) I’m so sad...

“(9) I can’t play with you,” said the Fox. - (10) I am not tamed.

– (11) How to tame it? - asked the little prince.

“(12) This is a long-forgotten concept,” explained the Fox. - (13) For me, you are still just a little boy, just like a hundred thousand other boys. (14) For you, I am just a fox, exactly the same as a hundred thousand other foxes. (15) But if you tame me, we will need each other. (16) You will be the only one for me in the whole world, and I will be the only one for you in the whole world...

“(17) I’m beginning to understand,” said the Little Prince.

“(18) My life is boring, but if you tame me, my life will change, it will be illuminated by the sun,” continued the Fox. - (19) I will begin to distinguish your steps among thousands of others. (20) When I hear people’s steps, I always run away and hide. (21) But your walk will call me like music, and I will come out of my hiding place.

(22) The fox fell silent and looked at the Little Prince for a long time. (23) Then he said:

– (24) Please tame me!

“(25) I would be glad,” answered the Little Prince, “but I have so little time.” (26) I still need to find friends and learn different things.

“(27) You can only learn those things that you tame,” said the Fox. - (28) People no longer have enough time to find out anything. (29) They buy things ready-made in stores. (30) But, of course, there are no such shops where friends would trade, and therefore people no longer have friends. (31) If you want to have a friend, tame me!

- (32) What should be done for this? - asked the little prince.

“(33) We must be patient,” answered the Fox. - (34) First, sit over there, at a distance. (35) But every day sit a little closer...

(36) So the Little Prince tamed the Fox.

(37) And now the hour of farewell has come.

“(38) I will cry for you,” sighed the Fox.

“(39) I didn’t want you to get hurt,” said the Little Prince. - (40) You yourself wanted me to tame you...

“(41) Yes, of course,” said the Fox.

(42) He fell silent. (43) Then he added:

- (44) Go take a look at the roses again, and when you return to say goodbye to me, I will tell you one secret. (45) This will be my gift to you.

(46) When the Little Prince returned to the Fox, he said:

- (47) Here is my secret, it is very simple: only the heart is vigilant. (48) You can’t see the most important thing with your eyes.

“(49) You can’t see the most important thing with your eyes,” repeated the Little Prince in order to remember better.

- (50) Your rose is so dear to you because you gave it your whole soul.

- (51) Because I gave her my whole soul... - repeated the Little Prince in order to remember better.

“(52) People have forgotten this truth,” said the Fox, “but don’t forget: you are forever responsible for everyone you have tamed.”

* Antoine de Saint-Exupery (1900-1944) - French writer, poet and professional pilot.

For generations, people have been thinking about what kindness is and what kind of person can be called truly kind. Some believe that kindness is a manifestation of weakness, the inability to defend one’s point of view and humility in everything. Others - that this is the feeling, on the contrary, of a strong person who is able to step over himself, to show himself in good deeds, helping others. But what kind of person can be called kind without a little doubt? I will try to answer this question based on works of art of domestic and foreign literature.

In Mikhail Bulgakov’s work “The Master and Margarita,” in my opinion, Yeshua Ha-Nozri displays the qualities characteristic of a good man. Being a positive hero in this novel, he also considers all people kind and enjoys every little thing in this life. He provided truly important moral assistance to Levi Matvey, thereby making him kinder and gentler.

There is no cruelty or evil in the thoughts of this person, he sees only good in this world and therefore does only good deeds from a pure heart.

Similarly, in Antoine de Saint-Exupéry's The Little Prince, the protagonist shows kindness to a flower. The little prince takes care of the rose, protects it from the wind and constantly talks to it. He does this without any self-interest, from a pure heart and exclusively with good intentions. The prince takes care of her, seeing that she acts proudly. This is a true act of kindness.

Thus, a person with sincerely good thoughts, intentions and actions can be called kind. For real kind person shows this quality towards others selflessly and with joy in his soul. Using the example of two literary works, we were convinced of this.

A few months before his death, Saint-Exupery wrote the allegorical fairy tale “The Little Prince” (1943). The motives that sound in it - faith in the triumph of good, humanism, contempt for philistine indifference - are characteristic of the entire work of the writer. The fairy tale is addressed to children, but it is also good for an adult reader, since only a person with wisdom from life experience can fully understand its depth and philosophical orientation. The plot of the fairy tale is not outwardly complicated: a pilot who crashed in the sands of the Sahara meets the Little Prince. The little prince asks to draw him a lamb. After many unsuccessful attempts the pilot drew a box, saying that the lamb was inside. “This is exactly what I wanted!” - said the Little Prince, who apparently liked this joke, and mutual understanding was established between them.

There are many allegories in the tale. So, the Little Prince tells his friend about the volcanoes that he cleans out so that they give more heat, about the fight against the baobab trees, whose roots are so strong that they can crush the planet. The little prince told his friend about his meeting with the beautiful Rose, who fell in love with him. But he, not believing in her good feelings, set off to travel to other people’s worlds, hoping to find true love and friendship there. However, this did not satisfy him either: selfish people, preoccupied only with themselves, live everywhere. So, on one planet he encounters a king whose meaning in life is the lust for power. The king makes the little prince his subject, thinking that he is doing a great good for him. On another planet there is a meeting with an ambitious man, whose main goal was for all people to honor only him alone. The Little Prince also talks about a meeting with a business man busy counting stars; with a geographer who, without going anywhere, writes about the seas and mountains.

The only bright memory the baby had was from meeting a lamplighter, who was extinguishing and lighting a lantern on his small planet, where days and nights very often alternated. And only on Earth did the Little Prince learn what it was true love and friendship. The wise Fox explained to him that a person creates happiness himself, it is around him, his true friends are around him. You just need to “tame” someone else’s heart and give your own in return:

“But, after thinking, [the Little Prince] asked: “What is it like to tame?” “This is a long-forgotten concept,” explained the Fox. “It means to bind to oneself.” — Tie? “That’s it,” said the Fox. “You are still just a little boy for me, just like a hundred thousand other little boys.” And I don't need you. And you don't need me either. For you I am just a fox, just like a hundred thousand other foxes. But if you tame me, we will need each other. You will be the only one for me in the whole world. And I will be alone for you in the whole world..."

And further: “But if you tame me, my life will definitely be illuminated by the sun. I will begin to distinguish your steps among thousands of others...” This means that friendship is a huge value, nothing can be compared with it, all other values fade before it. Unfortunately, “people no longer have enough time to learn anything. They buy things ready-made in stores. But there are no such shops where friends would trade, and therefore people no longer have friends.” Thus, the fairy tale grows into a protest against the disunity of people, philistine indifference, and a passive attitude towards evil on earth.

Each episode of the tale, each allegory expresses the general humanistic orientation of this wonderful work. Not only the Little Prince looks at the world with bright, clear eyes, but also the author himself, whose motto was “act and develop perfection in everything.”
