Pullover with dropped loops. The summer pullover is knitted in an openwork pattern from sleeve to sleeve. The hemstitch effect is obtained due to the dropped loops. The style of the pullover is given by the wonderful color transitions that the ribbon yarn shows us. This pullover will look great in any color scheme.

Dimensions: 38/40 (46/48)

You will need:

  • 300 (400) g of section-dyed yarn Ibiza (70% 40 cotton, 30% polyamide, 96 m/50 g);
  • knitting needles and hook number 5.

Drop stitch pattern: the number of loops is a multiple of 7 + 5 + 2 chrome. Knit according to the pattern, which shows only persons. r., in purl. r. Knit all loops and yarn overs. Start with 1 chrome. and loops before rapport, repeat repeat, end with loops after repeat and 1 chrome. Knit 1 time from the 1st to the 10th row, then repeat from the 3rd to the 10th row.

Knitting density (after unraveling the dropped loops): 12.5 p. and 20 rub. = 10 x 10 cm.

Attention! Knit the front and back crosswise, starting from the left sleeve. Arrow on pattern = knitting direction. After the 1st day the number of loops increases. In all the following calculations we proceeded from the dialed number of loops.

Pullover with dropped loops description:

Back: for the left sleeve, cast on 21 (28) sts and knit in a pattern with dropped sts. At the same time, from the cast-on edge, add to bevel the sleeves on the right side in every 8th row. 7 x 1 st. = 28 (35) sts, including added sts to the pattern. After 32 cm = 64 r. from the cast-on edge, additionally dial on 42 sts for the back on the right side and include them in the pattern = 70 (77) sts. After 55.5 cm = 111 r. (59.5 cm = 119 rubles) from the cast-on edge the middle of the back has been reached. After 79 cm = 158 rub. (87 cm = 174 rubles) close 42 stitches from the cast-on edge on the right side, undo the lowered stitches and finish the right sleeve symmetrically, i.e. the additions will become decreases and before the decreases, also dissolve the lowered stitches. After 111 cm = 222 r. (119 cm = 238 r.) From the cast-on edge, close all the loops, while undoing the remaining dropped ones.

Before: knit symmetrically.

Assembly: complete all seams, leaving the middle 34 cm open for cutting the neckline.

Patterns and schemes

Garter stitch

Front and back rows - front loops.

Pattern with dropped loops (72 loops)

Knit according to scheme. It contains front and partially back rows. In the unreduced purl rows, knit the loops according to the pattern, knit the yarn overs purl. Perform 1 rapport on 36 sts, then perform 1 more loops to the arrow. After the 1st row there will be 75 stitches on the knitting needles.
Attention!
When closing, the loops highlighted in gray are dropped and unraveled to the yarn over in the 1st row, i.e., only 72 stitches are closed in the pattern. All calculations are based on the initial number of loops. Repeat rows 1-48 constantly.

Pattern with dropped loops (for 40 loops)

Knit like a pattern with dropped stitches for 72 loops, but start with the loops before the repeat, repeat the repeat 1 time, finish with the loops after the repeat. After the 1st row there will be 43 stitches on the needles.

Knitting density

20 p. x 22 r. = 10 x 10 cm.

Getting the job done

Back

Cast on 84 (92) 100 stitches and for the placket knit 3.5 cm = 13 rows in garter stitch, starting with 1 purl row.

Then continue working as follows: 6 (10) 14 p. in garter stitch (including edge stitch), 72 p. in a pattern with dropped loops for 72 loops, 6 (10) 14 p. in garter stitch (including edge stitch).

After 40 cm = 88 rows (38 cm = 84 rows) 36 cm = 80 rows from the bar, close off 1 x 3 stitches for the armholes on both sides, then in every 2nd row close off 3 x 1 stitches = 72 (80) 88 p.

After 61 cm = 134 rows from the bar, close off the middle 26 (28) 30 stitches for the neckline and finish both sides separately.

To round along the inner edge, cast off 1 x 3 stitches and 1 x 2 stitches in every 2nd row.

At the same time, after 62 cm = 136 rows from the bar, close off 1 x 6 (7) 8 stitches on both sides for the shoulder bevel, then in the next 2nd row close off 1 x 6 (7) 8 stitches.

After 63.5 cm = 140 rows, bind off the remaining 6 (7) 8 stitches of shoulders.

Before

Knit like a back, but for a deeper neck already after 55.5 cm = 122 rows from the bar, close the middle 16 (18) 20 p., then in every 2nd row close 1 x 3 p., 2 x 2 p. and 3 x 1 p.

Sleeves

Cast on 43 stitches on the knitting needles for each sleeve and knit the placket as on the back, while in the last purl row, evenly distributing, add 7 sts = 50 sts.

Continue working as follows: 5 stitches in garter stitch (including edge stitch), 40 stitches in a pattern with dropped loops for 40 loops, 5 stitches in garter stitch (including edge stitch).

At the same time, add 8 x 1 p. to bevel the sleeves on both sides alternately in every 10th and 12th row from the bar (in every 8th row 11 x 1 p.) in every 6th row 14 x 1 p. garter stitch = 66 (72) 78 sts.

After 44.5 cm = 98 rows from the bar, close the sleeves on both sides with 1 x 3 stitches, then in every 2nd row close 4 x 1 stitch and 10 x 2 stitches (2 x 1 stitch and 12 x 2 p.) 14 x 2 p.

After 58 cm = 128 rows from the bar, close off the remaining 12 (14) 16 stitches.

Assembly

Sew shoulder seams.

For the binding, cast on 66 (70) 74 stitches on circular needles along the edge of the neckline and knit 7 circular rows in garter stitch. Then bind off all the stitches like purl stitches.

Sew in the sleeves, sew the side seams and sleeve seams, leaving the bottom 18 cm of the side seams open for cuts.

Knitting density: 15 p. x 17 r. pattern A.1/A.2 in two threads = 10 x 10 cm.

Knit all rows with facial loops. 1 hem = 2 rows.

Knit according to diagrams A.1 and A.2 - all rows are shown with RS. NOTE: To avoid tight side seams, in rows with dropped stitches, work 2 yarn overs (instead of 1) inside the edge stitches on both sides. In the next row, remove both yarn overs from the needle.

Change the color in each row marked with an arrow in diagrams A.1 and A.2. Knit stripes in the following order:
A.1:
1 thread rusty + 1 thread crimson

2 strands of raspberry color
1 raspberry thread + 1 peach thread
1 peach thread + 1 cherry thread

2 threads cherry color
1 thread cherry + 1 thread medium pink
A.2:
1 medium pink + 1 beige thread
2 beige threads
1 beige thread + 1 bright yellow thread
1 beige thread + 1 yellow thread

Due to the unique texture of the product, all measurements must be taken “by weight”, otherwise the jumper will stretch out greatly when worn.

READ THIS ENTIRE SECTION BEFORE YOU START KNITTING!
Cast on 63-69-75-83-91-99 sts on 6mm needles. 1 thread of rusty + 1 thread of crimson color. Knit in garter stitch - see description above - 2-2-3-3-4-4 cm. Next, knit the pattern according to diagram A.1, knitting the edge loops in garter stitch (1st row = RS), AT THE SAME TIME knit pattern in stripes, alternating colors - see description above. REMEMBER YOUR KNITTING DENSITY!
NOTE: Knit diagram A.1 twice vertically until all stripes A.1 are knitted. After A.1, switch to 1 thread of medium pink + 1 thread of beige color. Knit in stockinette stitch (edge stitches in garter stitch) until the height of the product is ~ 34-35-36-37-38-39 cm. Next, knit according to diagram A.2 AT THE SAME TIME, continue knitting in stripes - see the description above. When stripes A.2 are completed, continue knitting with the last colors (1 thread of beige + 1 thread of yellow) until the end. AT THE SAME TIME, when the length of the product is ~ 39-40-41-42-43-44 cm, mark the depth of the sleeve with marks on both sides. When the height of the piece is ~48-50-52-52-54-56 cm, bind off the central 21-21-23-23-25-25 sts for the neckline and finish each shoulder separately. Then, at the beginning of each row, from the neck side, close off 2 stitches once and 1 stitch once = 18-21-23-27-30-34 stitches on the shoulder. Continue knitting until 53-55-57-59-61-63 cm, knit 1 rib and loosely bind off the stitches. Part height ~ 54-56-58-60-62-64 cm. Repeat the same with the second shoulder.

Knit as before, similarly marking the depth of the sleeves. At a height of 52-54-56-58-60-62 cm, bind off the central 25-25-27-27-29-29 sts for the neckline and finish each shoulder separately. In the next row, bind off 1 more stitch for the neckline = 18-21-23-27-30-34 stitches on the shoulder. When the height of the piece is 53-55-57-59-61-63 cm, knit 1 rib in garter stitch and loosely bind off all the stitches. Knit the other shoulder in the same way.

Sew shoulder seams.

Cast on RS 45-47-51-53-57-59 sts between the two marks on one side of the jumper on size 6 mm needles. 1 yellow thread + 1 beige thread. NOTE: if you have cast on more/fewer stitches, decrease/increase evenly to the required number in the 1st row.
PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING SECTION CAREFULLY BEFORE CONTINUING!
Knit the pattern according to diagram A.2, knitting the edge loops in garter stitch, AT THE SAME TIME make stripes, alternating colors. You need to work the reverse pattern from top to bottom according to diagram A.2 (1st row = IS) so that the sleeve starts with yellow and ends with rusty red. Having knitted A.2 1 time vertically, switch to 1 cherry thread + 1 medium pink thread and continue knitting according to diagram A.1 with stripes also back from top to bottom.
AT THIS TIME, when the length of the sleeve is 2-2-3-3-4-4 cm from the marks, decrease 1 point on both sides. Repeat decrease every 9-7-5½-4½-3½-3 cm another 4-5-6-7-8-9 times (= 5-6-7-8-9-10 decreases in total) = 35-35 -37-37-39-39 p. Continue knitting the sleeve until 47-46-45-44-42-40 cm from the marks. Knit 2 ribs, 1 raspberry thread + 1 rusty thread, and bind off all stitches.
Knit the second sleeve in the same way.

Sew the axillary and side seams together.

Cast on from 70 to 85 sts along the neckline on 5 mm circular needles. 1 yellow thread + 1 beige thread. Knit 1 row with purl stitches and 1 row with knit stitches, then loosely bind off all the loops, purling them.
