Continuing the theme of dresses, I want to offer you another model. It is made with an openwork top. I already thought that there would be no suitable ideas for knitting. But no. I really liked this sample. Nice dress.

So. The dress turned out to be 70 cm long. I knitted it for my daughter, who is 7 years old. She is a thin and quite tall girl. Knitting density: 28 dc per 10 cm.

Let's start with the materials.

I received 1 skein of yarn as a gift. This is 100% mercerized Iris cotton. A skein contains 300 g and 1800 meters. Hook No. 2.

Invisible lightning.

I started knitting with a skirt. I knitted a tube of 5 rows of 12 large motifs in a permanent way. Watch the video for how to knit these round motifs.

When the pipe was ready, without cutting the thread, I aligned the edge, immediately narrowing it, fitting it. We also do this continuously in semi-motives.

Photo 1. We make the last connecting loop in the pipe. In the same loop we knit a single crochet and cast on 4 loops. Such 4 loops will be between all half-motifs.

Photo 2. We cast on 9+5 loops. We make a connecting loop in the 6th loop from the hook. Thread for work, as when knitting with large motifs in a continuous technique.

Photo 3. We scored 5 ch, 3 of which are considered the first double crochet. Next we knit a dc into a ring, ch 2. 5 times.

Photo 4. Next you need to connect 3 CCHs to a common vertex. We knit the 1st stitch into a ring, the 2nd stitch into the third loop, the 3rd stitch into the sixth loop on the transition chain.

Photo 5. We knit them together and cast on 2 ch.

Photo 6. We make a connecting loop at the top of the column on the comb and cast on 2 vp.

Photo 7. Now connect to the top of the column on the half-motif and cast on 2 ch.

Photo 8. Connecting on a large motif, 2 ch.

Photo 9. Connective on a half-motif. Between the two large motifs before and after the connecting loop, I cast on a chain of 5 ch. This is how we alternately join two more scallops on the next large motif.
Photo 10. From this moment we knit a DC in the 3rd loop out of 5, which we cast on after we wormed the ring for the half-motif. We dial 2 v.p.

Photo 11. We knit a single crochet into the next comb and cast on 4 chs, which, as I said, we will cast on between the half-motifs.

Photo 12. We knit a sc into the next comb and again cast on 14 loops for the next half-motif. Then we repeat from the second photo.

This is the smooth edge we got. It makes it easy and simple to knit any pattern.

Knitting first bodice row. Let's start counting the rows with it. In the diagram I marked in blue our edge, from which we begin to knit the fabric upward. The pink dots are the centers of our half-motifs. The green lifting loops show where we have the beginning and end of the row. The black symbols indicate what needs to be knitted and how to distribute the stitches in the new row. I adjusted this distribution in order to obtain the number of loops for the next row that is a multiple of 3.

Second We knit the row completely with single crochets in each column and under each loop. I knitted on the wrong side, I like it better. The output was 240 columns.

IN third in a row we knit crossed columns on the front side.. The difference is that there we knit X-posts with one loop inside and pass 1 between the legs, but here there are 2 loops each. And in today’s pattern, our X-columns have common tops and legs, also at the same point, in two neighboring X-columns.

In the photo below, a row of crossed columns is ready. Next, fourth the row is all single crochet. We make decreases in it, skipping every 10th stitch or loop, for a total of 216 sc (I didn’t take a photo).

Fifth the row is all double crochet, one in each column. 216 SSN.

Sixth row. Also all from CCH, you just need to make 40 decreases in any convenient way. I marked 8 places evenly around the circle and made 5 decreases in each (2 DCs with a common top). And one more moment. In this row we leave 3 columns on the back between the beginning and end of the row for the future snake. Starting from this row we knit only in turning rows. The output of this row should be 173 columns.

7,8 and 9
rows - elastic band from embossed columns 1*1 (LRS, IRS, and so on)

After the elastic to the end of knitting the back, in the place where there will be a zipper, we knit 4 dc at the beginning and at the end, regardless of the pattern.

11 row
. The entire row is double crochet, only in the middle of the row (on the 41-42 tick, you need to make 1 decrease so that by the next row we have 171 stitches left (well, we don’t count the 3 that we don’t knit).

12-23 row. Let's start the pattern. There will be no more additions or decreases for now. We knit according to the pattern below in a straight continuous fabric up to the armholes.

Starting from the 24th row, we knit both back and front panels separately. You will get 22 more rows.

(Click on the diagram to enlarge. Opens in a new tab)

We connect the finished back panels to the front when knitting the last row, or sew them together. Then we tie the armholes and neck with a place for a zipper with 3 rows of single crochets. We sew in a zipper.

I additionally tied the bottom of the dress in two rows without patterns, I just knitted what came up. This smoothed out the waves a little, and the row of DCs “weighted” the dress.

We’ll take pictures in the dress later, but for now the photo of the “hot” dress, as they say, is just off the hook :).

And here you can even see how much yarn is left in the skein. You can tie another accessory to the dress, a bolero, openwork mittens, for example, or a cape-stole, a panama hat, or a handbag.

An openwork dress is good everywhere - at christenings and weddings, in the theater and on a walk, in a restaurant and at a youth party.

It can be related:

  • modest ornaments or lush flowers;
  • using the technique of ribbon lace or coupling guipure;
  • in one piece or in separate parts;
  • figure-fitting or loose;
  • with or without lush frills;
  • With long sleeves or with short ones.

No matter how an openwork crocheted dress is crocheted, it can only be beautiful. This is a dress that turns Cinderella into a princess and makes any woman a queen.

A dress that is given a name is a dress that makes a name

Each openwork dress is unique, each is an original creative work. No model can be copied down to the eyelet. A slightly changed color, adding or decreasing rows due to the characteristics of the figure, thinner (thicker) threads - and the dress is different. Often, with your own name, which appears in the course of work.

Openwork dresses knitted by Vanessa Montoro, Laura Biagiotti, Giovanna Diaz made their names famous.

How to knit your first openwork dress

  1. Choose something that you really want to wear (give as a gift).
  2. Knit a sample, weigh it, count how much there is and whether there is enough thread.
  3. Knit a miniature onto a doll. This is how they overcome fear, overcome difficult places when knitting and bring joy to their daughter (sister, granddaughter).
  4. Make a pattern according to your figure (or the woman for whom the dress is intended).
  5. Knit a dress to your favorite melodies: a rhythm is developed, an individual handwriting is consolidated.

The openwork work is not knitted quickly. Experienced knitters spend at least 2 months working on a dress. All the sayings about patience and work are in place here. The main thing is the result - an openwork miracle created with your own hands.

Crochet patterns for openwork Goddess dress

Dress "Provence". Size 46-48. Work by Elena Saenko. The dress is made using the fillet technique, knitted from a mixed thread, 50/50 cotton with acrylic, consumption 400 g, 800 m per 100 g, hook 1.7.

Before starting knitting, be sure to make a sample, steam it and do your calculations.

For the skirt, I used the tablecloth pattern without changes; the pattern seemed very harmonious to me. The wedges are clearly visible in the diagram, so the skirt is bell-shaped with 8 wedges. The beginning of knitting is approximately 40 rows of the pattern, it is possible to start on earlier rows, it all depends on the desired length. Knit from the cast-on edge downwards in circular rows, always on the right side of the product.

After the main part of the skirt is completed, continue the yoke from the cast-on edge upwards in single crochet stitches, laying a thin elastic thread, which ensures a good fit at the waist.

From the yoke upwards, knit a spider pattern (use the pattern from the skirt) in a circle in straight and reverse rows to the armhole. Then divide into two parts: shelf and back. Do not knit the armhole, it results in a dropped shoulder.

At the height of the neckline, separate both parts and close each shoulder separately. Sew shoulder seams.
Tie the armholes and neckline with single crochets and finish with a row of picot stitches.
Steam the product. The underdress is in a contrasting color, in my case dark blue, the pattern is better visible.

Floor-length dress in delicate mint color made using the technique fillet knit. Size 46-48-50. The length of the product is 125 cm. The yarn is 100% viscose. Hook No. 0.9. The product wrinkles little and has a matte shine. Irina's work.

Model from the magazine "Sandra". Creator: Romyants S. V.

A unique model of its kind, made using the Irish lace technique. Such work can only be done by experienced craftswomen who are willing to spend time and effort to create this masterpiece. The model is made of motifs according to a crochet pattern.

Size 42.

The model is made with crochet.

You will need: 300 g cotton yarn of selected colors; hooks No. 1-1,2; needle.
The model is made using a complex technique of guipure lace. It is impossible to copy it in detail, but using the suggested elements, as well as showing creativity and the ability to improvise, you will create your own unique thing.

To begin, make a high-quality working pattern (Fig. 25), adjusting it to your standards. It is best to make a pattern from fabric to make it more flexible. The main difficulty when making a product is to form a flat fabric of the silhouette you need, when assembling it from separately connected elements, therefore, during the knitting process, I recommend that you try on individual parts as often as possible, regularly applying the fabric to the pattern and making sure that it not "faldilo".

Let's consider the principle of assembling the canvas of this model. First, create small compositions whose central motifs are large flowers (diagram 25, 25 a, c, d). Then surround and dilute the plane of the canvas with motifs of leaves (diagram 25 g), small flowers (diagram 25 e, f), curls (diagram 25 b). Next, having knitted several of these fragments, lay them out on a life-size pattern. Fix the most appropriate position with basting, for which the individual elements are cleaved into a group on the pattern, then connected to each other. To create the impression of the integrity of the lace fabric when filling the pattern with motifs, join the darts, side and shoulder seams of the parts. Fill the gaps between the motifs with an irregular mesh, where instead of C1H, perform lush column. An example of such a grid is shown in Fig. 25 a, where the beginning of the grid is indicated by a bold cross - RLS.
For the straps, knit rings according to the pattern 25 z and sew them with the same yarn into a braid of the required length. Sew the finished straps to the sundress as shown in the photo.
